SUMMARY:Bird Walk #4
DESCRIPTION:Group will gather in the parking lot in the picnic area (not in the Eagle River Campground). On one side of the area there is willow and alder\, and fields of grasses and wildflowers. In the opposite direction\, Eagle River flows out to join Lynn Canal creating an extensive delta and tidal flat. At low tide a multitude of sand bars are exposed but beware as the tide comes in quickly and quietly.  Xtratufs or other waterproof boots are recommended. This is a relatively flat out-and back-walk\, mostly on sand. If you have a scope\, it is recommended as shorebirds are flighty and occasionally difficult to see.
